Rules of Clean Eating
Practice makes perfect. Nothing here is new, but as you start clean eating, it will become second nature and much easier. You will look back at today and laugh at how simple this really is to incorporate.
Shop the perimeter of the grocery store
Every store is a little different, but as a general rule the outer area of the store is where you will do most of your shopping. Purchasing fresh vegetables, meats, nuts.
Buy fresh produce
Fruits and vegetables are better and healthier for you. They provide vitamins and nutrients to keep you feeling and looking good. Try to purchase those that are in season. Anything that is out of season means that it was picked early and matured during shipping.
Eliminate added sugars
Foods in their natural state, don’t have added sugar. Added sugar is addictive and short term satisfying. Have you ever noticed you grab a quick sugary snack, it fills the hunger gap and a short time later you are back looking for that fix again. It’s a vicious cycle and your waste line will start showing it, if it hasn’t already.
Drink more water
You have heard it before. Drink 8-10 glasses a day. Add a slice of lemon to your water for additional flavouring.
Cook
Anything you cook from scratch is soooo much better than a packaged dinner. Plan ahead and make sure you have healthy snacks available to grab on the go and avoid the drive though windows and ensure you have all the ingredients for dinner time.
