How To Improve Gut Health

How To Improve Gut Health

Did you know your gut…gut fact

  • is vital to the optimal function of all body systems?
  • is a large part of the body’s immune system?
  • plays a significant role in autoimmune disease, depression and anxiety?

Over use of medications (especially antibiotics and antacids), environmental toxins and chemicals, stress and illness deplete our good gut bacteria.  Therefore, it is increasingly important to replenish our gut bacterial (microflora) to protect our health.

Causes of poor gut health:

Wheat

Changes to wheat over the past 50 years have been made to make wheat resistant to drought, pathogens and fungi.  Author or Wheat Belly, Dr. William Davis views the changes to wheat as disastrous to our health.

Antibiotics

Routinely prescribed by doctors they have a huge impact on our gut.  The antibiotics that are prescribed to aid in healing an issue, deplete our beneficial bacteria.

Candidiasis

The overuse of antibiotics have resulted in illnesses, one of them being candidiasis (yeast overgrowth)  Yes, we do have some yeast in our bodies.  However, when the gut bacterial is damaged the yeast multiplies out of control promoting food allergies, fungal infections, fatigue and digestive disorders to name a few.

The bacterial in your gut is crucial to your health!
